NY Times: For First Time, Pharmaceutical Distributor Faces Federal Criminal Charges Over Opioid Crisis

Rochester Drug Cooperative was charged on Tuesday for defrauding the government and conspiring to distribute drugs. Stemming from a two-year federal Drug Enforcement Administration investigation, this case is related to the national addiction to prescription painkillers epidemic. According to the CDC over 200,000 individuals have died in the US from prescription opioid overdoses in the last two decades.
