The Weather Channel: “Hurricane Ida Flood, Wind Damage Threats Push Inland Over the South After Category 4 Landfall”

On Sunday, Louisiana was hit by Hurricane Ida, a hurricane of category 4 intensity.  The 150 mph winds matched those of 2020’s Hurricane Laura and the winds of another hurricane from 1856. The storm brought intense flooding, extreme winds, and mandatory evacuations to Southeast Louisiana.The storm conditions are expected to last until the evening and weaken as it moves towards the Northeast US over the course of the week.
