LATimes: California has the toughest gun laws in the U.S. That’s irrelevant if they’re not enforced
California has very tough gun laws, but there is no point of them because they are not being enforced in this state. Atty. Gen. Rob Bonta states that most of the violence crimes are due to guns, and especially currently the rise of ghost guns. These guns are impossible to track to the owner because they are not registered guns but rather different purchased parts. This article highlights cases where these ghost guns caused harm and even death. The attorney general office states that there are almost 24,000 people who have guns that shouldn’t in California, yet there is uncompetitive pay and the job is so dangerous that there is insufficient recruitment for a job that would confiscate the possession of these guns. Ghost guns are so prevalent but California doesn’t have the funds to take them off of the streets. Sanctuary bills also add to the continuing use of these guns. For the full article click here.
