Johnson and Johnson’s Covid-19 Vaccine is identified to be 85% effective overall in all regions where it was experimented. The vaccine is a non-replicating viral vector vaccine that uses adenovirus 26 (a common cold virus vaccine). This J and J vaccine is especially important because it is the first vaccine that only needs 1 dose, does not need to be stored in deep cold temperatures, and method includes “giving the gene in a virus that can’t reproduce itself,” Dr. Paul Offit, director of the Vaccine Education Center at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, states. The vaccine will be in request for emergency use authorization from the FDA in early February. Once approved, the company claims it will have 100 million doses by June.
